What’s in your water?

Uncategorized

KB Plumbing takes pride in quality craftmanship, cleanliness on the job, respecting our customer’s home as if they were our own, and informing our customers on the best choices for water filtration systems. We ask the question, ‘What are you looking for?’ to best equip your home needs with a customized approach.

Tap water can still have toxic chemicals and minerals and knowing if you want a water filtration system for your entire home, or a specific area, is a good place to start. KB Plumbing also offers soft water services for your plumbing needs. But what is ‘soft water,’ exactly?

Soft water is water that is free from dissolved salts of such metals including calcium, iron, or magnesium, which form insoluble deposits. They can appear as scale in boilers or soap curds in bathtubs and laundry equipment. Soft water is surface water that contains low concentrations of ions and minerals. Rainwater and distilled water are good examples of soft water.

KB Plumbing can answer these types of questions to help preferences on hard or soft water. In addition, the smart customer should be informed of the EWG, the Environmental Working Group, that can help inform consumers with consumer guides. These guides can also help answer questions like, ‘What’s in your sunscreen?’ or to learn about the toxic chemicals in your tap water.

Since 2013, water utilities’ testing has found pollutants in Americans’ tap water, according to an EWG drinking water quality analysis of more than 31 million state water records. ‘Tap’ into EWG’s Tap Water Database to find about your water in your local area. KB Plumbing can provide customized solutions that you are looking for in your home.
